How Massage Helps

Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a condition involving trigger points, chronic pain, tender points and sleep disturbances and affects millions of people each year. Although there are many different studies suggesting what actually causes fibromyalgia, those that suffer from it deal with a constant, chronic state of pain and fatigue. Studies suggest that of all therapies, massage is one of the most beneficial in treating fibromyalgia.

It is important for the therapist and client to work together in finding a level of pressure that is both relaxing and pain free. Because people that suffer from fibromyalgia have many areas in the body that are very tender, it is important to work with an experience massage therapist.
